Surfing is Siargao

Go surfing in some of the best surf spots in Siargao. The island is known for its world-class waves, and surfing lessons are available for beginners. There are countless surf spots around the island. There are waves all year round. June to September is when the swell is smallest, sunny, and good for beginners (but summer swell will show up). September to December is the biggest, with normally offshore conditions at Cloud 9 spots. December to March sees very big swells with erratic winds, good for G1, Rock Island, Stimpies… March to June is a mixed season with some big days and some smaller wind changes. It's best to talk to locals and explore secret spots.

Surf Lesson

At Gwapitos we can organize your surf lessons, surf guides, or recommend the best surf spot of the day. Visit our shop at General Luna or contact us to book your lessons ahead.

Surf Lessons usually cost 1500 per person (2 hrs) including your own surf instructor and surfboard.

Island Hopping & Land Tour

Visit Daku Island, Naked Island, & Guyam Island. Spend the day island hopping to some of the nearby islets. Explore Daku Island's vast white sandy beaches and clear blue waters, sunbathe at Naked Island's vast stretch of beach, and go photo hunting at Guyam Island's beautiful rock formations. Visit Magpupungko Rock Pools & Pacifico Beach. Take a scenic drive to Magpupungko's tidal pools, where you can swim and cliff-jump. Once you're done, head northeast to explore the beaches around Pacifico.

Freediving

Siargao has some of the clearest water you can experience. Cloud 9 to Tuason has amazing freediving spots. You can also take a boat from Catagnan (where Pares is located) to go to Rock Island, Stimpies, or Blue Cathedral. Alternatively, you can freedive from General Luna, taking a boat from the boulevard to the island in front. There are 2 freediving schools: Palaka and Maximum Freediving.

Contact Chie from @oceantribe_ph to book your lesson or let us know ahead so we can organize your trip

Surf-Skate/Skateboarding

Just a short walk from Villa Aurora, you’ll find a safe skate spot near Secret Beach, Malinao — a great place to meet fellow skaters or pick up tips from locals. We can also arrange a lesson for you.

Rent or borrow a skate from Gwapitos shop, Bravo shop, and several others around. Malinao is one of the crowd-favorite spots for skateboarding. The Cloud 9 bridge is great for sunset views as well.

Sunset and Secluded Beaches in General Luna

In front of Villa Aurora Malinao, we have a white sand beach that's great at high tide. During low tide, you can walk to the island in front. 300 meters away, there's a secret beach, one of the most iconic beaches in Siargao, where the white sand beach meets the mangroves. The beach in Tuason, right next to one of our properties, has amazing white sand and perfect left waves in front.
